MSC Musica - Super Sokkie Cruise

Welcome on board the MSC Musica

Durban to Portuguese island, our second trip upon a MSC cruise ship. This time we had an even better experience with Super Sokkie Cruise.  See more exciting videos like....

Luxury cruise ship from the front.  To be able to get aboard, you need your passport and a valid ticket, please remember your unabridged birth certificate for your children. Please remember the fast forward which costs a bit more, but is worth it, as you skip a lot of the queue. Not all cruise ships are the same, some take in your passport and only get it back when departing. When boarding photos are taken for your cards and this takes some time.

Our balcony suite on deck 10. A nice picture opportunity before the sail away party. Nice balcony suite to make the experience more memorable.

Sail away party about to begin when we depart, on deck 12. Getting everyone into the party mood, with some great entertainment and dancers. Super Sokkie cruise opened with a live performance from one of the artists.  This cruise had a bit of turbulence, due to a cyclone moving in from Madagascar.
The Captain did inform everyone that we would not be going to Pomene as the cyclone was moving in too close to shore. Keep nausea tablets at hand, if you're not use to the see.

Buffet area open majority of the time, for healthy combinations.
Remember to try the formal restaurants, if you want to dine in a fancier setting. What we did was to get up a little earlier. We went to the buffet area first and see what breakfast is lined up. The formal restaurants have two sitting times, depending on your cruise details. So we would go the formal area for a later breakfast to sample the variety of food not available at the buffet area.  Do the same at night, as dinner is more formal but can be catered for a refined pallet.

Interesting carvings of fruit and bread sculptures. This is more the healthy side with more fruit and salads. The way they create sculptures is very creative and interesting to look at. Keep in mind that different areas are opened at different times. The take away area is opened majority of the time, making pizzas, hamburgers and chips.  Remember all food is included in your cruise fee on the MSC cruises.  Please remember to get your drink booklets ahead of time on line to get a bit of a discount.

Sunset on our balcony, before going to supper. Remember to take many photos,as this is your only memories you'll have of the vacation.

If you are planning a wedding, please be assured they will make it spectacular. They even throw rose petals from above. The only negative aspect in my opinion is the photo packages, as it is a bit expensive and the quality and quantity you get is not worth it.  The picture taken while boarding hid our faces behind the props. We had a small argument with the photo manageress about the quality of the photos.  In our experience, it is easier and better piece of mind to take your own photos with a selfie stick, or perhaps a family member to help out now and again.

If you don't want to stay in the buffet area all the time, then take a snack back to your room, for a midnight snack. Leave your plate or cup outside your door, the staff remove it for you.

On board cocktails are great to relax and enjoy the on board entertainment. Purchase your drink vouchers before hand, as you'll pay more on board.  Please keep in mind there are different booklets, non-alcoholic, cool drinks, ice cream, coffee, etc.

Beautiful picture, ending our first day as we walk up the marble stairs to our floor.
