Schotia Safaris near Port Elizabeth

Schotia Safaris was the first reserve in the Cape Province to have free roaming lions.
You can book to live in the "wild" lion camps... but this could have changed as we were very young when we went there.  They do still do game drives and tours. It was truly a great experience with lovely food and friendly people to make a weekend get away memorable.

I have never felt so scared but yet so calm as to have the lion come near to my face, she even licked my hand after petting her head.

When we were young and very in love, we did some crazy adventures together, we went on Safari at Schotia Safaris near Port Elizabeth... We met a beautiful "tame" lioness Tina, who stole our hearts immediately.  Over the years Schotia has grown and has many mammal species, not to mention free roaming lions in the game reserve.

Your visit to Schotia can be made exclusively to your needs, as various game rides are available, as well as some interesting camping sites and lodges.

The most exciting for us, was the Tooth and claw safari... which took you in the game reserve at dusk, to see springbuck, impala, buffalo, zebra and lions.

There is no greater feeling and excitement waking up in nature, taking in all the sounds and smells …. whilst having a delicious breakfast or dinner... depending on your booking preferences.

Looking forward to go back to Schotia Safaris again in the near future. If you wouldn't mind when booking a get away to Schotia Safaris, please mention that you got the idea from Roos Travel Experience Blog.
