Cape of Good Hope

Cape of Good Hope

Cape of Good Hope - or Cape of storms is a place quite unique, where the two "southern" oceans merge, the Atlantic and the Indian ocean.  It's also part of a nature conservation area, in the Western Cape of South Africa. The light house is accessible by cable car, but there is a small distance that needs to be covered by taking some stairs.

The view when travelling these last few steps from the cable car is simply amazing.  The wind can be quite fierce between April and June, so hold on tight to your hat, scarf or any loose belongings when going up to the light house.

A light lunch or a refreshing drink can be found at the restaurant... This was a small desert, flowers being edible.  Sitting outside is nice overlooking the sea or slightly more enclosed or sheltered from the wind, if you sit inside.  The staff are very friendly and welcome tourists from all over.  We had many Germans and Japanese on top near the light house that day we were there.
When travelling down towards the sea, a beautiful coast line can be traveled towards the point... this is where the two oceans meet. Some nice picture taking opportunities are made possible with nature as the backdrop.
